About us

Federation of Training and Placement Officers (FTPO) is a group which is formed by the Training and Placement Officers of Pune District in 2007.

Major Objectives of this group:

1. To create a common platform for Industries and Institutes.
2. To improve and re design the Training and Placement Processes.
3. To increase the job opportunities for students.
4. Addressing the common issues and concerns of the member TPO.
5. Networking among Engineering Institutes.
6. Bringing equal opportunities to member colleges in terms of jobs, MoUs , Projects and internships.

    It has been an honour to have you present in India Science Fest, Pune as our Out-Reach Partner. Your participation ensured the success of our event. Thanks for trusting us for the first edition of India Science Fest and taking time to come to Pune and engage in interesting discussions with speakers and the audience. I hope you had a nice experience and found the initiative to be worthwhile. I was personally overwhelmed with how the festival unfolded over two days - the enthusiasm shown by the speakers and the curiosity of the audience blew me off. It seems we caught on a latent demand. My high point was finding an eight year old ask questions about black-holes to a speaker. Our estimates say that 12,000+ people attended the festival, 1300+ people used our AI smile app, 100s of participants attended our workshops and games saw a participation of 500+ people. Hats off to Federation of Training & Placement Officers to make this event a real successful one. The other thing which was very satisfying was that the event really worked as a fest and not as a conference. There were students, parents, kids, professionals, entrepreneurs and all. They were taking selfies, picnicking, playing games, gheraoing our celebrities (the speakers), enjoying food and poking fun, while doing and hearing science. It was also nice to see speakers from diverse backgrounds having great conversations. It truly became a celebration of science. We feel we have taken an important step forward towards public engagement of science in India. The response to the festival makes us feel responsible to create something even bigger and better. We need your help to do so in the years to come.
